Grids can be very helpful when trying to get a scene of space and camera position.It may be hard to figure out where some thing is standing in the scene with out a grid. Using items in the background, foreground and mid ground can give the storyboard depth and show the actual size of some thing and where it is in the scene. Another helpful tip is grouping characters together so that you wont have to cut back and forth between characters so often. Camera angles can also help to show how tall or short a character is. some one tall would have a higher camera angle looking down, and a shorter character would have a camera angel lower looking up.
One of the most important tips in my own opinion is show motivation for cuts. having some thing move or make a sound will show what some one is looking at or reacting to.
